How are Alchemist of Eden CBD oils produced?

Our CBD oils are made from certified organic hemp plants grown in Switzerland. Suppliers are carefully selected and only sustainably produced crops are used.

The CBD distillate is produced under GMP standards in Germany. GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice and is becoming the Gold Standard for the production of cannabis products. This ensures that every batch is thoroughly checked and documented right down to the smallest details.

Our oils are produced using the whole plant, meaning the root, stem, leaves and flower. The process involves distillation of full spectrum CBD extract to remove the THC. The resulting product is a broad spectrum CBD oil.

The CBD is extracted from the hemp plants using a process called Supercritical CO2 Extraction. This ensures quality, purity and consistency in production. During supercritical CO2 extraction carbon dioxide is heated to a temperature of 31°C and pressurised to 1071 psi (7.38 bar). This is known as its supercritical state where it is between the state of a liquid and a gas so has the properties of both. This helps it to target specific molecules when combined with the raw hemp material. These molecules bond to the CO2, the CO2 then evaporates at room temperature leaving the final product free of any residue.

Distillation is the method used to separate different compounds using their corresponding boiling points. The CBD oil is heated under a vacuum until the CBD begins to evaporate. It will then rise and is collected in a condenser which will form the distillate.

The resulting distillate has a smooth, neutral flavour. We combine the distillate with an organic olive oil to increase its bioavailability. This means that more of it can be used by the body as it is more easily absorbed.
